Fez Avery is a poet from Northern Michigan. He is a PhD candidate at Western Michigan University and holds an MFA from Virginia Tech. They also teach poetry, spoken word, and creative nonfiction at Interlochen Arts Camp.

His debut collection, CLAYBOY, is a winner of the 2025 Jack McCarthy Book Prize, and is forthcoming from Write Bloody Publishing in May 2025.
